Terms of Service

Welcome to Pre:Fix. Pre:Fix (also written “Prefix” — the two names refer to the same service and are used interchangeably in these Terms) is a social platform designed to help people discover events and venues, meet others with shared interests and values, form groups, and make meaningful connections.

By creating an account or using Prefix, you agree to these Terms of Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Prefix.

By using Prefix, you represent that you are legally permitted to use the service and that the information you provide is accurate.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for activity occurring through your account.

You may not impersonate another person, create intentionally deceptive profiles, misrepresent your identity, or use another person’s photos or information without authorization.

Prefix may use automated or manual systems to help detect fraudulent, abusive, unsafe, or inappropriate accounts and content.

3. Events and Venues

Prefix allows users to discover, share, create, or interact with events and venues.

If you submit an event or venue, you must provide information that is reasonably accurate and must have the right to submit any photos, descriptions, links, or other content you provide.

You may not create, promote, organize, or share events or venues primarily involving:

• Illegal drugs, controlled substances, or unlawful drug distribution;
• Human trafficking, exploitation, abuse, or sexual exploitation;
• Child abuse, exploitation, or any sexual content involving minors;
• Pornography, sexually explicit services, or obscene sexual activities;
• Violence, threats, fighting, or activities intended to cause physical harm;
• Hate-based activities or targeted harassment;
• Weapons trafficking or other illegal dangerous activities;
• Fraud, scams, theft, or deceptive schemes;
• Activities encouraging self-harm or harm to others;
• Illegal activity or activity that creates a serious risk to public safety; or
• Other activities that Prefix reasonably determines could cause significant harm to users or the community.

The presence of an event or venue on Prefix does not mean Prefix organizes, operates, endorses, verifies, or guarantees it.

4. Community Standards

You may not use Prefix to threaten, stalk, intimidate, bully, harass, exploit, or deliberately harm another person.

You may not post or send content containing credible threats of violence, graphic violence intended to shock or glorify harm, non-consensual sexual content, sexual exploitation, hate-based abuse, or content facilitating serious illegal activity.

You also may not use Prefix to distribute spam, conduct scams, manipulate other users, or deliberately provide dangerous or fraudulent information.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit to Prefix.

By submitting content, you give Prefix a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, process, reproduce, display, and distribute that content as reasonably necessary to operate, improve, secure, and provide the service.

You represent that you have the necessary rights to content you upload.

6. Photos and Profile Content

Profile photos and other images must belong to you or be content you have permission to use.

Prefix may remove images containing nudity, sexually explicit material, graphic violence, exploitation, illegal activity, or other content that violates these Terms.

Prefix may use automated systems, including AI-assisted systems, to help identify potentially fraudulent or prohibited content.

7. Safety When Meeting Other Users

Prefix helps people connect but cannot guarantee another user’s identity, intentions, behavior, or safety.

You are responsible for deciding whether, when, and where to meet another person. Exercise appropriate judgment when meeting someone for the first time, particularly when meeting in person.

Prefix does not conduct a criminal background check on every user unless explicitly stated otherwise.

8. Location Features

Some Prefix features may allow users to share locations or temporary meetup locations.

You control whether you use these features. Location information can be sensitive, so you should only share it with people you trust.

Temporary location features may expire after a specified period, but users should not assume that information already viewed, copied, or shared by another person can be recalled.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You may not attempt to hack, disrupt, reverse engineer, overload, scrape, abuse, or gain unauthorized access to Prefix or its systems.

You may not use automated systems to create accounts, harvest user information, send unsolicited messages, or manipulate engagement without our authorization.

10. Enforcement

Prefix may investigate suspected violations and may remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, or terminate accounts when we reasonably believe these Terms or applicable law have been violated.

Where appropriate, Prefix may preserve or disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to address credible threats to safety.

11. Third-Party Events, Venues, and Links

Prefix may display information obtained from users, event providers, venue operators, ticketing services, maps, websites, or other third parties.

Prefix does not control third-party businesses or services and is not responsible for their availability, pricing, accuracy, policies, safety, cancellation, or conduct.

12. Service Availability

Prefix may modify, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features. During beta or testing periods, features may contain errors, change significantly, or become temporarily unavailable.

13. Disclaimer

Prefix provides the service on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law.

We do not guarantee that every profile, event, venue, user-submitted statement, or third-party listing is accurate, authentic, safe, or current.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Prefix and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, interactions with other users, or attendance at third-party events or venues.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as Prefix develops. When appropriate, we will provide notice of material changes through the app, website, or another reasonable method.

Continued use of Prefix after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms where permitted by law.
